about
The basics for this track were recorded on Portland Ave in South Minneapolis in the winter of 2004. The lead vocals were recorded in NE Minneapolis in the spring of 2018. Morgan Meyn Nagler's vocals were recorded by Jake Bellows in California in the summer of 2018.
Drop me off at detox
I watched you drive away
We spent twenty minutes saying our goodbyes
In the parking lot
I got a dose of methadone
To make me feel OK
But when it wears off then I'll know you're gone
So far away
I'll be out in seven days
Out of this drug-induced haze
But you will be on your way
To Seattle
But I hope
And I pray
That we'll be together again some day
And maybe you might wait around
Wait around for me
Things could be better
But I guess I can't complain
They've got cereal
And the nurses are mostly same
Oh, serenity
I've been playing ping-pong
And sleeping in a chair
Through the meetings
Dreaming you were somehow there
I'm delusional
I'll be out in seven days
But that's not soon enough
I'll be out in seven days
But that's not soon enough
For you
Will be gone
And that's one less reason to carry on
With two broken hearts
Can we put 'em together
Find the the missing parts?
In Seattle

What an amazing album. A sad and devastating story told triumphantly. A wonderful mix of atmosphere, electronic signatures and as usual, well crafted lyrics. Another gem! Daniel Mayes
First heard this EP way back on Napster, before it was picked up by Chairkickers, and obtaining it legally was nigh impossible. For years I proselytized the good word of Kid Dakota, made friends copies, bought it as gifts, put it on mix cds, ect. Just found out this was on vinyl, as I was on graveface's bandcamp to buy something else. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Hope they release The West is the Future next. John
The new EP from the aptly named regal murk is a striking piece of work, thick rivers of guitar swallowing tender vocal melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 24, 2022
